![]() ![]() To remove it from them You would have to select the images and use Tools/Metadata/Remove, tick the appropriate boxes and then click on Yes.ĭepending on the size of your collection, that might take quite some time, as it will have to write to all of the images (or sidecar files). ![]() However if the old metadata was actually embedded in the images, it would still remain in the images. You could also not tick "Face Data." and even "EXIF and IPTC metadata" but I would not recommend removing EXIF. You can run Tools/Database/Catalog files with the "ACDSee Metadata, including categories, keywords, tagged and collections" box un-ticked, and that would not read that metadata into the new database. Your post does not make it clear if you only want categories to be removed, or all ACDSee Metadata, and it is really important to know if the ACDSee metadata was actually embedded in the images. If you have embedded your ACDSee metadata in the images, then just browsing will read some of that metadata from the images (though not Categories and keywords), and normally you would either need to use Tools/Database/Convert Database to bring over the entries from the earlier version database, or use Tools/Database/Catalog files to have all of the ACDSee metadata from the images (assuming you did embed it in the images). However, as soon as you start to browse your images, it will automatically create entries for them. When you start a completely new database from File/Database/New, it will not at that point contain any entries for your images. ![]() For my purposes, starting from scratch is the way for me to go. Is there a way to remove the old categories from the files so when I run Catalog files on the new database it doesn't load my old categories? I would like to start a new database from scratch, nothing brought over from the earlier database. ![]()
